I listened to Harry Caray for years growing up so when the restaurant opened, I loved sitting at the beautiful wood bar with a bowl of their homemade potato chips in front of me. I still love going once in a while for special meal with the family. We went last week and it's still fantastic food. Most sports or athlete restaurants don't last long after the athlete or sports personality leaves town or stops playing, but this is one of the exceptions. It's an icon in River North because it's obvious the owners want it that way. My 10 ounce filet with crab was amazing. The kids loved their pasta dishes. Fettuccine Alfredo and pasta bolognese were both delicious

My wife wanted to go here to celebrate her birthday. We came on a Monday night and pretty much had the place to ourselves, which was awesome. We had a great server. She was very attentive and gave us a lot of good suggestions on what to order. We had a great meal the corn Brûlé side was one of my faves. I wish we got two of those. Steaks were cooked perfectly and we had zero complaints. They even brought a candle out in her crème brûlée to make it special for her birthday. 5 stars

Harry Caray's is a Chicago staple. I most recently sat at the bar and had a great meal. The bar is pretty casual, there were baseball hats and leggings, which was a nice change. To eat I had the eggplant parm which was delicious although it didn't come with pasta which I felt was odd. The fried mozzarella is delicious. It's a ball of mozzarella that they slice and deep fry. Yum!

The food and service was wonderful here! For appetizers, I shared the meatballs and the crab cake. For entrees, I got the pappardelle alla bolognese and the hubby got the chicken parmigiana. The crab cake was so good and mostly crab meat which I was pleasantly surprised by. The dressing in the salad was a little too sour for my taste though. The chicken parmigiana was a large size and very tasty and had enough melted cheese on top. The Pappardelle was the star of the show for me. It was cooked al dente and the amount of meat was great and not just ground meat but chunks of meat. Very large portion as well! I only wish that they served complimentary bread instead of chips as the meatball and pappardelle sauces/bolognese was a tad salty to my taste. It would have been great to go with bread! The main reason I did not give a 5 star is that we were seated in the bar area and had no idea there was actually a dining area. When we walked in we told the front desk party of 2 and she said to go to the bar.For the price of the food, I was not expecting bar ambience. It was only after we ate that I looked at other reviews and noticed there was a dining area. I wish we were told about that as I would have preferred a dining area instead of at bar where people were talking loudly and watching sports. The service however was great and I would come back again when in the city but ask for the dining area!

This place has a lot of history. First of all I love the decor. It had a real old-school feel about it. The steak was very good. It was a little undercooked, but we sent it back and they brought it out cooked perfectly. The waiter was also very nice and accommodating. It was also great to see the pictures a famous celebrities. The next time you're in Chicago, you should check out the place.

We really enjoyed our food and service here. Met a family member in town for work and it was a great choice. Really enjoyed our steaks (and the butter options with the steaks) and the sides. Mom pov: it worked well to bring our baby in a stroller on a Tuesday night. There was enough room to pull the stroller up to the table. There was a changing table as well.

" Holy Cow!" My favorite baseball broadcaster. Made a visit here to attend a special event in honor of a friend. The Chicago sports teams history on full display downstairs. Working our way upstairs to a private dining room with a bar and slew of appetizers. Some of my favorites were the coconut shrimp, filet sliders and the meatballs. An awesome place p oh Ace honoring an awesome sports icon. Here's to you Harry!

I chose this restaurant based on a food blog for Chicago and man am I glad that I went. I did go in blindly, not realizing how expensive that it was, but let me tell you that the food was beyond my expectations. When you enter, you will be seated in one of the mini rooms and I will say that it is a loud restaurant. All of the waiters where Butcher white coats and are all fervently working to get you everything that you need. We started with really good heavy drinks and the kids got fancy root beer that they loved. We ordered the calamari which might just be the best I've ever had. With tip, but that did include drinks and an appetizer
